Chinese herbal therapy takes years of dedicated practice to master. Dr. Jenise Parris is certified in Chinese Herbology  by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Diplomate (NCCAOM), the premier national evidence-based standards of competency and credentialing. She received her training at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine as a doctor of acupuncture and certified herbalist.

Herbalists certified by the NCCAOM have comprehensive training in traditional differential diagnosis and proper treatment methods. They must also have at least four academic years of education at the master’s degree level in an acupuncture and Chinese herbology program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Finally, certified herbalists must demonstrate professional competency by passing NCCAOM certification examinations in Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Chinese Herbology, and Biomedicine.
